An Active Approach to Health

~ for YOU ~

brainspotting

Brainspotting is designed as a therapeuti
c tool that can be integrated into many of the healing modalities. It is a non-invasive intervention that makes use of the natural phenomenon, "where you look is how you feel." Brainspotting locates points in a persons visual field that help to access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain; parts of the brain that are not easily accessed using traditional talk therapy. Through the use of relevant eye positions, the Brainspotting practitioner is able to locate, focus, process and release a wide range of emotionally and bodily-based conditions.

Brainspotting can also be used to find and strengthen a person's natural resources and resilience. In this way, it is valuable not only to accelerate recovery from traumatic stress but also for performance and creativity enhancement.

The CMHA process involves:

The aim is to locate and obtain all psychosocial and health-related records that exist pertaining to the referred individual (including multi-disciplinary and multi-state, including public and private service providers)
  2. clinical interview(s) with the referred individual
  3. clinical interviews with the referred individuals’ caregivers if applicable and deemed appropriate
  4. review and synthesis of all records received and information acquired as a result of interview(s)
  5. a written report presenting a comprehensive overview and synthesis of all records and information acquired, including functional mental health and diagnostic histories, physical health/illness/injuries that may interplay with the referred individual’s current mental health functioning, psychosocial history, a customized selection of mental health screenings and assessments as deemed clinically appropriate, recommendations for addressing and improving the individual’s mental health

PERSONAL HEALTH COACHING
Picture
Health Coaching focuses on bridging the gap between your goals and your reality. Health coaching is a partnership between you and your Coach that provides structure, empowerment, and a relational environment for learning. Through the coaching relationship clients gain health education and insight into their behaviors. They learn why past attempts at lifestyle changes have been unsuccessful and gain new skills to support successful achievement of their goals and life-long maintenance through their lifestyle. Personal health coaching is available through in-person and virtual formats.

Health Coaching services focus on the eight (8) elements of health: physical, emotional, social, intellectual/mental, environmental, vocational/occupational, spiritual and financial. Through health coaching services, individuals learn to define each element of health, to recognize and understand the manifestation of each element of health in their own life, and to understand the ways in which the eight (8) elements of health interplay with each other.

PSYCHOTHERAPY
Psychotherapy, commonly referred to as "counseling" or "therapy," focuses on educating and assisting people with the development of insight into their moods, feelings, thoughts, behaviors and relationship dynamics. Therapy aims to empower people to embrace responsibility for their lives and respond to challenging situations in way that enhances their resilience and values their personal health. Interventions are customized by the therapist to fit the goals and culture of the patient or client, and to optimize the effectiveness of the therapeutic relationship (i.e. the relationship created between the therapist and client or patient).

Therapy is offered in various formats including individual 1:1 sessions, couples therapy, and family therapy. Individual therapy is offered in-person and virtually. We recommend the in-person format for couples and families.
YOGA

Yoga is a movement based practice that intertwines breath and intentionality. Yoga creates a safe space in your body that allows you to accept parts of yourself that may not come up every day. Emotions explored in yoga are happiness, sadness, gratitude, anger, joy, excitement, and grief. It is a combination of physical exercise and emotionally focused therapy. A unique benefit of yoga is that it empowers teacher and student(s) to focus on moving around emotions and memories that are hard to articulate and discuss.
