Brainspotting is designed as a therapeutic tool that can be integrated into many of the healing modalities. It is a non-invasive intervention that makes use of the natural phenomenon, "where you look is how you feel." Brainspotting locates points in a persons visual field that help to access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain; parts of the brain that are not easily accessed using traditional talk therapy. Through the use of relevant eye positions, the Brainspotting practitioner is able to locate, focus, process and release a wide range of emotionally and bodily-based conditions.
Brainspotting can also be used to find and strengthen a person's natural resources and resilience. In this way, it is valuable not only to accelerate recovery from traumatic stress but also for performance and creativity enhancement.
